so we are putting them together with parts we had. It was originally a three speed, now it has a single speed coaster brake. It was fun showing him how to put the BB and cranks on, how to put the headset together and mount the forks,... so we built it how he wanted. That crazy seat is the one he wanted on there. It probably weighs 5 pounds.
I haven’t ridden a step through since the 80s when my mixte I had doing my paper route got stolen.
It is seriously convenient and comfortable for chill rides around the area.

Are those gold anodized rims stock to the bike, or did you purchase them for it? And if so, where? I have an old Schwinn that had a set stock, but when I got it, it was missing the front wheel. I'd like to get a set to put it closer to stock looking.

Those were common back in the 80's. They are Araya 7x rims.. I built this bike up years ago they are pretty pricey nowadays due to BMX collectors. Check eBay.

scooterpants nice Torker! It is funny how things change and then come around again. The great thing about that is that it is a clean and simple BMX bike. With 26" wheels, it makes a great rider for an adult. It also has a period correct look with anodized components and chrome frame. Enjoy.
Oh, and you even have the Torker pads!

Velocommuter Commando
The final incarnation of my '80's Beach Cruiser
Evolved from stock 1 x 5 derailleur to 1 x 6 indexed derailleur to Shimano Nexus 8-speed internal gear hub. Of the three drive trains I've run on it the IGH is the most useable and I've enjoyed it the most . Bike started life with the standard beach cruiser tube fork and I replaced it with a sunlite reproduction springer. Rims have been replaced with Weinman as7x's. Rides as smooth as butter and is a great Ride-as-you-are-no-lycra bike. This is the final incarnation as I can't think of anything else that needs improved.

does the Sunlite springer fork smooth out the road any.

I like what you have done with this bike. It looks like you ride for some distance with all the comfort items you have installed. I like the totally aero rear wheel and the three spoke front wheel with giant disc brake. Does this bike have gears? What brand of seat is installed. It looks comfortable. Overall a cool style statement but practical rider.

Bought this frame & fork thinking it was from a Sears Spyder muscle bike. It was actually a 1961 Higgins Flightliner cruiser with 24" wheels, according to the serial number. I built it up with Spyder parts anyway, but it was born as a cruiser.

I did it again...
I couldn’t pass at the opportunity to pick up this one-off frame designed by Anthony Hobbs (Flying Machine Bike Co.) & built by none other than Robert Belyea, founder of HBBC & now HB Cruisers.
Anthony chopped off the seat post & welded on the brackets for the Harley Saddle, final build & all custom wheels laced up @ Xavi’s Bikes in Modesto CA. It’s one seriously comfy ride!
