Cino needs riders!
This just dropped in my mailbox:
Hello Cino Riders,
We hope this finds you well and enjoy some spring pedaling.
We are just over two months out from Cino 2023 and the planning team is getting things locked into place. We currently have 35 registered riders and need 20 more (by June 16) to make the ride happen. Sadly, nobody has registered in quite a while, so we're hoping you can help us out.
As our best cheerleaders and ambassadors, please spread the word near and far on social media, your local bike shop, or just shout in the streets as you ride! I have attached a PDF poster - feel free to print it out and post it in your local bike shop. If you'd like us to send you an actual paper copy, just reply to this email with your request and we'll get one (or several) in the mail to you.
Here is our website link: https://www.kalispellmontessori.com/cino.
As always, let us know if you have any questions. An update on Cino jerseys coming soon!
With gratitude,
Team Cino

This is very surprising to me! In all the geek-out pictures I see posted in this subforum mainly, I’m always seeing everyone with those ‘Cino’ jerseys. But maybe it’s the same 10 ppl over and over that I see.
I’d be very interested in this this ride, except the location/travel becomes a challenge, which is what may also be a barrier for others as well.

Figures the week I finally book my flights the ride is questionable!
For the NYC folks, FYI you can fly direct EWR to Bozeman. Drive over looks "reasonable" from there.

for the record the drive from Bozeman to Kalispell is what Montana is really about. Even the freeway From Bozeman to Missoula is scenic.

I have plans that weekend but I would like to get out to an event like this at some point. If only it were a weekend earlier, or later!

Adding my encouragement to others to get in on this ride. Simply the BEST and MOST FUN organized ride you may ever attend.
Sell the dog, drop off the kids, leave the keys with the neighbors and get thyself to Cino.

I actually think St mary to Browning is a pretty awesome road and Browning to Fairfield is pretty cool too...and for someone who has never experienced hwy 2 all the way to Williston it is kind of neat. I had a buddy who led Edelweiss motorcycle tours and he said the europeans coming over actually were bored going through GNP but loved that hwy 2 and hwy 20 type country

I would be interested in doing it but don't have the right bike (even tho it has early 90's technology) and all my bike monies is being saved to buy a newer bike.

I would have to pack up the bike, gear and clothes. I could fly myself and all that stuff the 1,000 miles (one way). I could rent a car and drive the last bit to a hotel in the area. That would probably take 2 days. Driving is 1,400 miles one way and is estimated at 30 hours on the road (3 days?).
I could then participate in the 100 mile ride.
Of course, I'd have to repeat that process to get back home using the rental car and plane. I'm guessing it would be $2k - $3k.
Clearly, this is a lack of commitment on my part.
Make no mistake on this, it sounds like a great event.
Are there no local riders who want to do this event? Maybe they should advertise locally.

I have an overnight reservation at Alameda's but am still clearing the work calendar, so I have not yet signed up for the ride. I guess I need to do that.
One condition, though: gugie has to promise that, once he has finished his second beer, he will send a search party after me. Or at least a St. Bernard.

For me, the only way that makes sense is to make this a glorious road trip. That means to drive not fly. It also means having passengers to talk to and share the experience. After all, it is at least a week in the car.
In that case, the drive becomes more important than the Cino ride. You drive as quickly or as slowly as you care to do, stopping along the way for sight seeing.
The Cino ride is the "destination", le raison d'etre, but the tour is in the car and the fun is in the people you share it with. Of course, there is that video... WOW!

Aside from the beer budget.
