I'm loving my Peugeot mtn. bike but can't stop my eyes from always roaming.
The F/F combo is full Tange Mountain with rather relaxed geometry. consider the rest of it's parts to be replaced.

Saved from a free pile. 84' High Sierra. Repaint but has the smokey pearl on steer tube and mostly suntour. Someone had poorly reassembled and probably had issues riding after.

This is my second MTB that I still have (my first onewas sold many decades ago), a Merida Al Bon from 1992 originally given by a friend in who found the geometry too much close to a road bike and too heavy.Originally it was fitted with the1st gen deore lx components but I changed the rims to mavic xm819 tubeless rims

I later upgraded the bike in 2016 with the Deore XT 780 T transmission much more durable and solid than the XT 780 M with its shadow derailleur

This bike is very solid and rides fast despite being 31 years old, when upgrading the drive train, I shaved 750gr of the weight of the bike. Great bike for trails

Beautiful work, came out very nice. I don't appreciate that style of XT crank (the look only, those flag looking flanges) but it's an eye popper.

Thanks I loved that crank for its simplicity and its durability, at one moment I was thinking of getting a XT 770 crank but I chose this one without any regrets. The bike is very reliable, smooth and the handling and riding quality very good. Once the tires will be worn out, I will install Continental Mountain King in 26*2.2.

Latest ride mid-late 80's, early Fisher Montare. Needs some fine tuning but rides nice except when the rear tire started to come apart...

Well, it's home and it definitely is a Montare. Headbadge says Montare Mountain Bikes.
Parts inventory:
BB Serial Number T6G95832
Deerhead FD
XT RD
Bullseye front hub
LX rear hub
Exage U brake rear
Shimano V brake front

Picked up this '96 Mt Tam earlier this week. Decided this is going to be a keeper, and started down the rabbit hole of polishing the frame (and fixing the shocks).

That is seriously cool! I hadn't remembered or thought about Bike Beat for ages! Don't know much about them other than that I think they were a SoCal shop that had some frames made for them. That's probably a pretty rare bike there! Super jealous!

In the still shot on the vid you can see the OG Boulder Bikes promo poster showing a bikini-clad chick catching big air. My guy met her and says that was a real shot and she was a rider. He also said the link between the swingarm and the shock is a master link from a motorcycle chain.

Mavic ZAP came out in 1993 and I got to set up a couple bikes with it. Mavic only sold it with the full gruppo, including their own 8S freehub that had no interchange with anything else. So this one customer bought the whole gruppo to get the derailleur as his bike was already fully tricked out with OG Magic Motorcycle cranks (pre-Cannondale) and other similar exotic things. And he needed it installed the day before the Seattle-to-Portland ride IIRC.

Another one was built up on one of our frames to send to Road Bike Action for a test. The framebuilder went against a lesson he'd learned a few years before when he sent his new production crit frame to Bicycling with the first Dura-Ace STI anyone had seen only to have the test be all about the STI. The review ended up with maybe a line or two about "Oh, and this is a really nice frame....."

ZAP derailleurs stick way out and have a lot of plastic. They need to be removed from the dropout and secured for shipping. Sadly, RBA didn't do that when they shipped the bike back to us and we had to talk Mavic out of another ZAP derailleur when the bike came back.

Took sometime to put my 1998 Litespeed Ocoee together. A few little touches to finish off, for now it is ready to ride. A bit heavier than I invisioned it ending up but, lots of directions to go lightening it up. Currently it has some neat old school parts on it, a 1 of 500, was NOS Cane Creek World Bicycle Relief 110 Reserve Headset, XC Pro thumb shifters, seat post and grease guard hubs, XTR first generation XTR FC-M900 Crankset, Sakae PowerBulge Titanium Handlebar, Avid Speed Dial Titanium levers, Gary Fisher cages, Fox 32, Series F100RLC fork. Dart and Smoke tires ......etc.

I had an 10sp XT/XTR groupset laying around so decided to put it on my ParkPre. Then I topped it off with a new handlebar and tires.

1995 ParkPre Pro 825 w/ Tange Prestige fork
10sp XT Groupset with XTR Rear Derailleur
Suntour XC Pro Brake Levers with Shimano 700cx Brakes
XTR M910 Hubs laced to Mavic 20i rims.
Schwalbe Billy Bonkers 26x2.1 Tires
SQLAB 310 680mm Handlebar (130mm stem)
Only original parts left are the seat clamp and headset.

Without the bags, the complete bike weighs just over 24lbs for a 21" frame. Not bad for a steel frame and fork.
