1UP USA Bike Rack

I got my new 1UP USA single bike rack today and one add on today.

The rack is really well built. If fits my needs perfectly, I can haul one mike (most usual) or add the second bike if need be. When not on the hitch the main rack will fit nicely in the back of my SUV and the add on will stow in the garage on a rack above the cars.

Well, you certainly don't mount it on the bike!

They are Not Light, but I do take mine off the car whenever I'm not using it. It lives up against the wall of the garage right in front of the car. Terrific piece of gear, but it seems like the founder? Inventor? took his ball and went home and founded a similar rack company with a few improvements on the original design.

As do I. I could see someones car bumping into it with the bike removed. It blends in at the bottom of the car from the small profile.

You mean like this? Saved my bike! Probably my bumper too, no damage at all. He has a little hole in his bumper. Sorry not sorry.

Yup just like that. I'd thought the bike would have been a warning.

I added extra reflective tape to mine so you can see it better both when it is folded up and carrying a bike.

Has anyone done or considered hanging their add on rack on the garage wall and storing a bike on it when not in use?

Yes, they are rather light. I can carry mine with two or three fingers.

This thread deserves a bump, I have this rack in black with the add on, lock, and license plate options ~$600 total. Absolutely no regrets. No bungees, belts, cords, or cables. Solid level ride. I’ve even sandwiched a third bike between the two racks with no worries definitely recommend.

OK... I'm gonna ask...looking at that picture... it looks like the rack does a nice job clamping the tires down... so.... What's to stop someone from stealing the bike frame? Open the quick connects and.....

I don't know about anyone else, but I have a big, heavy chain that I wrap around the frame and the rack. They definitely won't gain anything by opening the quick releases. The rack by itself offers no theft prevention.
