Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

12-23 Cassette (from 11-25). Hardly ever used 11 or 25 and really wanted a 16 and a 18 cog.

Fox Ranger Bike Shorts
Fox Cycling Jersey
Pearl Izumi Pittard gloves
Specialized lace-up bike shoes

I'm set. Did a 25 mile ride yesterday in the gorgeous gift of a day we had. Kept up a pretty good pace the entire time, between 16-20mph.

I joined the compact bar revolution. Replaced the Deda Newton anatomic with a Deda Zero 100 42cm on my Pedal Force RS. 20 mile ride in pouring rain on Saturday and a 50 mile yesterday. More hand positions in the drops is a good thing and I did spend quite a bit more time in them. It will take a bit of time to get used to the slightly ovalized tops. They are not as stiff as the Newton's however.

Castelli winter bigtights. Took them for a ride on Saturday when it was -22C and they were the warmest part of my kit.

2 Specialized bottle cages in grey w/red logo - they match my bike perfectly!

I used half of my tax return to buy a new commuter (the old one was a POS Cannondale). I haven't yet removed the dork disc/reflectors, but then again it's a rain bike, so I may leave them on for the additional visibility. Regardless, I'm super into the end result.

The Seattle Bike Swap is in a couple of weeks, so I'll probably be picking up an extra pair or two of Keos - I'm tired of swapping my one pair around on three bikes.

EDIT: I deleted the old photos. Fixing the image links:
