A question of etiquette

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A question of etiquette

I seldom post in road any more, since my defection to foo, but I have a question that requires a serious answer. Just had the house painted. After 12 years of home ownership, I no longer own a white garage door.

I am now the proud owner of a nice chocolate brown garage door.

Can I still post pics of my bike taken in front of a brown garage door, or will I need to make other arrangements when I feel a cycling kodak moment approaching?

Brown in D Town,

Jsharr

You should go out an buy another garage door, and set it up in your backyard for just these occasions.

You'll have to have it temporarily repainted for those occasions.

Dark coloured doors are OK for Light coloured bikes. White bikes on white doors are not that easy to see.

Make sure that they sign a model's release as the door's POA. For $1.00 you can include a stipulation that they never paint their garage door a different color.

(I can see why you'd want to post that question here rather than in poo.)

Thanks for that. I've now either got to get a shorter bike or a double garage.

I like to use my green wall. The only drawback is that it can mess with the white balance, but what can you do when you're apartment-living. You all may be envious of Merlin's pimp garage door, but I'm jealous that you all HAVE garage doors.

can you imagine the humiliation if you are caught red handed photographing your bike in front of their door? What kind of excuse can you make up because the truth is just too ridiculous.

Has potential, may need to crop a bit to hide subterfuge.

Do what I do sometimes and use your neighbor's white garage door as a background without having to do some home invasion:

And yes, I am using the opportunity for some gratuitous posting of my bikes LOL................
