Which group set will be on your next new bike?
My road bike is only two years old. It still has quite a bit of life left in it -- which, of course, gives the current group sets time to drop in price. Still, I was thinking . . .

I'm guessing maybe ... Shimano 105 or possibly Shimano Diore, like I have now.

Tempted to go Rival but may end up with Ultegra SL. Fortunately for my wallet, these purchases are farrrrr off. Nice to dream though.

I'm buying none of the above.
What I will be buying will be "old" 7800 parts to replace my 7700
parts (with the exception of the crankset).
The Fulcrum crankset for around $250-$350 is the best cramkset to come along in a long time. I know that it's Campy, but if you buy it as Fulcrum,
it doesn't say Campagnola on the crankarms. I don't care about stiff, I care about weight. I'm not strong enough or hefty enough to flex stuff.

I figure by the time I can afford to buy another new bike I'll be able to pick up Record for cheap on eBay!

I'm torn: assuming I don't have to get a new bike before my rigorously planned & highly anticipated New Bike Receipt Day (which is in 2012 or so), I'll probably go w/ Campy Record (or maybe Super Record), just because that's the sort of gruppo this highly anticipated New Bike deserves. However, certain things about SRAM Red (esp. the 1-piece cassette, the available cogs in said cassette, & the adjustable reach of the brifters) are really starting to appeal to me. In fact, if it wasn't so butt-ugly I'd choose Red. But it'll probably be Record.
On the other hand, if for some reason I need a new bike before 2012, all bets are off. I'm riding mostly Ultegra w/ a token DuraAce RD & a SRAM cassette/chain now, & that seems to work fine. I'd do it again.

stole your bike
I'll go the Dura Ace route but I'll get 7800 for as cheap as I can get it.
