it's pretty ugly, but I am all for fewer cars on the road if it means motorized bikes.

A little too late. Somebody might want to clue HD we don't use white tires anymore.

I like the look and the white tires. I’d prefer a flatter top tube more like a flat tracker and reliability and price are major factors that we do not know about just yet.

Entering the electric bicycle business underscores efforts to remake Harley-Davidson into a more nimble company that reacts quickly to market conditions and consumer preferences.
Doesn't look very "nimble" to me. The e-bike boom is well underway and all they have is a mock-up.

Guess I'll go against the grain and love the styling.

While I typically prefer a level tt, the only aesthetic complaint I have is the bmx stem and the handlebar moustache, stretched tattoos, and leather vest that are requisite to buy this.

THAT`S Going To Be Everything.

I LIKE IT! Although I`ve seen some real world prototypes , and the tires were black, and drive belt was black.

If they don`t price themselves out of the market...SUCCESS!

Love the springy Brooks saddle. Other than that...no. Good old HD: a century of tradition uninterrupted by progress. This has "fail" tattooed all over it.

I have read in the business press that as part of their new strategy, HD is slashing the number of models being offered, is more or less giving up on the younger rider demographic, and is focusing on their core competency of large bagger/cruiser motorcycles usually bought by older men.

Interesting. They did have a couple models on their website for a while and now it’s just this bike. I think they should roll out with 3 or so models.

1. MTB
2. Cruiser type
3. Flat Tracker (old school)

this bike I guess would be a cruiser bike

I love the look of this bike. Supposed to have an IGH and removeable battery. Something tells me it won't be cheap, BUT most factory ebikes are hideously expensive anyway.

Knowing HD, I'm guessing $3995, but worse aspect may be 20 mph top speed. I'm partial to 28 mph or higher.

Ebikes tend to be stiff, I have a B67 on mine. But if I had room, I would have gotten a Thudbuster instead.

Got to wonder who the perceived market is for this thing?

Beach cruisers in Florida resort towns? Maybe something for the folks in "The Villages?"

Anyway, clearly not for me. I provide my own power and ride a real bike. ;-)

I had to back out and check that I really was in the 'Electric Bike' sub-forum where a bike like that IS a real bike, thank you very much. No matter how many times the article said that there is no throttle and the rider must pedal at all times there still will be those who must get their superiority jabs in at e-bikes. It gets old even out in the general discussion area, I never expected to find it here too.

Knowing H-D, I'm guessing $8K, and they will have to figure out how to put a real battery on that thing.

That's a good question.

The ebike market is exploding in Europe, and growing quickly here. It's very competitive, mine is a Felt, and they gave up, they aren't doing ebikes now.

Since it's a Harley, it will likely be an overpriced mediocrity, so the only obvious market will be old guys that can't ride their Harleys any more.

Not that it matters, the company is headed for bankruptcy.

Geez, relax. It was just a little light humor. Note the winky emoticon. Those are included when the comment is meant in jest. Just so you know.
