Getting tired of winter tights for rides in low 40*s
Seattle Eastside, Cougar Mt south side, Renton Highlands/Issaquah region
Whew,..... no relief from the big chilly. And muchly gritty/damp/wet around my roads. February usually yields at least a pleasant riding day or two - some years a stretch of days.
Not sure the point of thread. March looks mostly a washout, too.
Already alternating good tights. Got the light winter boots and also excellent toe covers. Hiking and trainer help, but the bikes are ready, as I have muchly passed on the skiing. The 'desire to look for breaks in the sky' has yielded to me putting other things on the calendar.
Maybe some Seasonal Affective Disorder, but I really think it is more bikaholic withdrawal.
Happy with 50s when dry, can't come soon enough.

Squeaky Wheel
I've been commuting in it 3 days/week all winter. I don't mind it. Typical winter day when I go home over the 520 bridge the bike counter will be under 150 riders. Rode home last night (Thursday) and the counter was around 580 riders. Oh what a difference a little sunshine makes!

Had a lovely 3.5 hour snowshoe yesterday, sure got my Z1 for the week. Lanham Lake. Snow was quite hard, but a beautiful day. We're really slow. I'd blame that on my wife but my legs are really sore today. Good to go somewhere with beauty. I've been doing some Nordic skiing there too, "there" being the Stevens Nordic Center, recommended if one lives close to Hwy 2. 30°-40° temps.

I am pretty much dedicated to wearing full length bib tights so long as the temperatures are in the single digits. Heck even in the low teams I will keep my knees covered, moving to knickers. I do not think I will move away from knee coverage until the temperatures get to the mid to upper teens.
