Terry Synergy?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Terry Synergy?

My GF has suddenly got this idea that she wants to buy a bike. She is fairly new to riding but has decided that she wants to do a couple of sprint tris and maybe a few centuries with me. She is looking for a WSD and noticed that on the Terry website they have discontinued the Synergy and are selling them for $500 off ($1,300). The question is-anyone know anything about this bike? Is this a good deal?

Terry bikes tend to have very, very short top tubes. If that is what your girl friend needs, nothing will fit her better.

I have sold a number of Terry bikes to women who are 5'2" or shorter. They loved them, in fact, I can't ever remember having a short woman test ride a Terry bike and not buy it.

I have never ridden a Synergy, but a few years ago the Terry Isis was on sale. I bought it, and I love it. It fits my 5'4" size very well. My boyfriend is always complaining that the two wheel/tube sizes will be a pain, but so far they never have been. You do have to carry 2 tube sizes, but the front tire rarely flats anyway.

The WSD geometry is truly outstanding.
Note that front wheel is a 24-inch and rear wheel is 700c, so carry two tubes instead of one
