Sram rival shifter/derailleur issues

My rival shifters/derailleur have been struggling. Cables and housing were replaced a month ago, chain replaced at the same time. It値l shift all the way up fine, all the way down fine, but when I shift down after shifting up I値l have to shift twice to get the derailleur to move. After that it値l shift down as it should. Same thing happens up after shifting down. Any suggestions to why this is happening?

^This^ I'm betting the mechanic kinked the cable when directing it into the housing. Easy to do w/ SRAM shifters if you're not careful.

Check the B-Limit screw also. If the upper pulley is too far away from the cassette, shifting can suffer and require double shifts up and down the cassette. In my experience with SRAM rear derailleurs, this is especially important with wide range cassettes.
