Mrs datlas got some wooden kitchen armchairs off FB recently. I don’t like to use them because the arms are too high to fit under the kitchen table. She had the bright idea to cut an inch off the bottom of each chair leg so the chairs will fit. The only power saw we have is a miter saw. I tried to explain to her this is not really the right tool for the job, but she is adamant to cut the legs. Wish me luck.

Maybe you need a line conditioner and not a UPS.
I just did a 12 miler. Out and back to a brewery on a nice rail trail we have around the corner from where we live. It was my wife’s idea but I didn’t think the rail trail came close to the brewery. It’s literally across the street from one of the stops on the trail.
So I confirmed that my wife rocks and that I’m pretty much blind.

See song lyrics below, Cadillac Ranch by Springsteen. Especially the second paragraph:
Well, there she sits buddy just a gleaming in the sun
There to greet a working man when his day is done
I'm gonna pack my pa and I'm gonna pack my aunt
I'm gonna take them down to the Cadillac Ranch
Eldorado fins, whitewalls and skirts
Rides just like a little bit of heaven here on earth
Well buddy when I die throw my body in the back
And drive me to the junkyard in my Cadillac
Cadillac, Cadillac
Long and dark, shiny and black
Open up your engines let 'em roar
Tearing up the highway like a big old dinosaur
James Dean in that Mercury '49
Junior Johnson runnin' thru the woods of Caroline
Even Burt Reynolds in that black Trans-Am
All gonna meet down at the Cadillac Ranch
Cadillac, Cadillac
Long and dark, shiny and black
Open up your engines let 'em roar
Tearing up the highway like a big old dinosaur
Hey, little girlie in the blue jeans so tight
Drivin' alone through the Wisconsin night
You're my last love baby you're my last chance
Don't let 'em take me to the Cadillac Ranch
Cadillac, Cadillac
Long and dark, shiny and black
Pulled up to my house today
Came and took my little girl away
Well, there she sits buddy just a gleaming in the sun
There to greet a working man when his day is done
I'm gonna pack my pa and I'm gonna pack my aunt
I'm gonna take them down to the Cadillac Ranch
Eldorado fins, whitewalls and skirts
Rides just like a little bit of heaven here on earth
Well buddy when I die throw my body in the back

Line conditioners regulate voltage so you don’t have sudden draws or spikes. They also weed out other electrical interference so you have a cleaner sound. They’re popular in home audio, which is where I became familiar with them, but they’re useful other applications too.

She set the all-time top speed record in qualifying and wrapped up her second championship today. A good weekend for her.

We all should worry less about our plans and concentrate on dealing better with life throwing us a curveball. People were making plans on 9/10/2001 and in December 2019. Then stuff happened.
I'm a planner and plans are good but our reaction to things going to hell in a handbasket is one of a few things we can control.

I'd still like to move and be closer to family, but we will see what happens.

after being thwarted last weekend (gg half marathon, bridge paths closed) i set off early this AM (6:50am) to avoid ANOTHER bridge path closure, this one for the “mermaid race.” 7:20 closure time. i’m 20 minutes from the bridge, tops. got there and it was already closed. “oh, yeah, those web postings are always wrong whatever it says we close the paths at 6am on event days.”
there was a shuttle … with a bike trailer. ugh. took the risk and loaded the bike, held down with one metal bar with rubber padding.
thankfully no disasters, and the rest of the ride was awesome other than completely frozen/numb hands. it was about 40 in the coolest spots, downhill in the shade, and the combo of effective wind speed and the temperature really got me.
in the market for better gloves, touchscreen a must, hopefully not too bulky but better protection against cool winds….

Anybody see the footage of the airshow crash in Dallas yesterday? It’s something from nightmares.

34 tomorrow morning. This may hurt a little.
Day 4 of squats went without a hitch, which I am shocked about. Not sure how i’m still standing let alone functioning. Didn’t get home from work til 1 am this morning, and my wife had a round of braxton hicks contractions shortly after I tried to go to sleep. That freaked us out a little bit, so was still awake at 3 am thinking we might have to go to the hospital. Alarm went off at 5:30 am, and I suited up to ride.

Just watched a couple of videos and was astounded at how many planes were in one shot. 7 planes right there:
