Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Road Cycling in Tuscon

We hope to rent an Air BnB in Tuscon for the purpose of road riding. What part of Tuscon should we stay in that will facilitate riding from our home best? I posted this in regional also but I rarely get responses there. Thanks

I’ve never heard of a place called Tuscon. Where is it?

It's midway between Arizona and Italy.

OP: The E/NE part of town allows easy access to Mt. Lemmon.

Tuscon was a science fiction convention in the 1980s - and a common mipsellnig of the Other Arizona Metropolis.

My impression of the Old Pothole-ueblo is that it's very bicycle-friendly throughout the area, except many of the roads are in rough to atrocious condition. I was getting vibro-massaged even with Fat Boy 1.25 tires and a double-sprung saddle. So don't bring your narrow tires, if that's any help.
