Fork looks bent. What is with the stack above the head set? Replaced fork and bent besides?

Yes, something is wrong with the bike.
I passed on it anyway. He was asking 400$, than he.dropped the price to 225$.

Does it fit?

It looks like definitely needs a good overhaul so subtract for that and cables and tires. I’m curious as to how worn the drivetrain is.

can you get other pics? Maybe of the RD and chain rings? What about a pic from this angle to see the fork alignment better?

PS. $225 for a little known Columbus TreTubi frame might not be bad if the fork is OK and the drivetrain isn’t trashed

Agreed, there are too many question marks. The tall upper stack suggests a repacement fork and possibly a bent frame. The replacement fork itself looks like it may be bent. Front tyre looks shot. Rim wall wear is high. Drivetrain is very dirty and probably well worn.

"velotraum" - have not previously encountered this term

perhaps it refers to what happens to the rider in a crash...

More like "velotrauma" - a deeply distressing or disturbing experience

No, velotraum is not derived from trauma.
It means bike dream. ("dream" = german "Traum")
Velotraum is a producer and bike shop in Weil der Stadt, Germany.
Try velotraum DOT de
