Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

After a week of nothing, a thunderstorm lands at 6am Saturday. There may be a 90 minute gap at 10-ish before the second one hits. Where can I file a customer service complaint?

Think I may take a full-rest day (rest day on day without work) because it has been a while and I am all kinds of unmotivated. Go back and hit it tomorrow.

Church?

Pro tip: don’t do it during a thunderstorm.

According to this morning's revision, you have a tropical storm heading your way.
The same revision that has moved it so far east that I don't have concerns anymore. I may go through some motions anyway, in case it changes again

I guess you were running a fixed gear? Seems like maybe the lock ring wasn't tight enough or didn't have enough thread "bite". When I had a freewheel hub on an old mtb I used to keep an extra axle at home because I bent them so often. The last time it broke the chainstay.

Yeah, that's for Tuesday though. This is coming from the north. Will have a walk with AG in about an hour to get the blood flowing.

Broke off today’s ride early. I was telling myself I wanted to keep the load down for a longish ride tomorrow, but I may have just wanted to come home and drink coffee. I’m glad I’m not married to me.

Especially with a carbon bike, I don't ride in the rain or in the dark. I always get punctures in the rain and crashes in the dark. Just not worth my time. I want to enjoy my cycling experience and don't want to risk my precious getting hurt. I always say... my wounds will heal but not my bike....just sayin...

Grrrrr. Family obligations so only time for a quick ride today. Felt like a good day for a KOM run on a particular segment, though, so I went for it and felt pretty good about it. Got home and saw a 2nd place finish. Looked at the KOM... yup - car. I flagged it, of course, which gives me the KOM but not the recognition on the ride summary.
