Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sure, in the same sense that real FTP varies, but we treat it as a static quantity against which to measure effort.

Here is a recent review of performance models and shows where W' comes from and its relation to critical power, which is closely related to FTP. It's a bit mathematical, but I hope to work through it when I have time.

I've ridden the Sugar River trail, but not road biked in the area. I recall thinking it would be a good area to road bike with the hills and scenery. By the way the Sugar River Pizza Co. is highly recommended as a place to eat, particularly if you partake in malted beverages. They have plenty of outdoor seating at least in summer.

Thanks for the route link - now saved for future.

First time I went to the Brewery, it was located in town, basically in a tin sided building. When I asked to take a tour, they said sure just walk around in there if you feel like it, no one was working in the back as it was weekend. Now, its relocated, outside of town, up on top of hill, done all out, much worth a visit - would also be a good climb/ride on a bike if not for the traffic. Again outside seating etc... No great deals, but worth at least on trip.

Apologies...cant get the multiquote to work....I mostly agree re spotted cow. I haven't purchased it in quite a while, I do like that it is unfiltered, but otherwise its fairly bland. Moonman is farily good, it has some hoppyness, but not overdone like most of the IPA craze.

Interesting. I'm also playing around with W' at intervals.icu. These models then suggest that W' should never be a negative number?

Not unless you’re riding faster than the speed of light, of course. Anyone else?

Interesting again, because with a small enough number, I do get a negative minimum on Intervals.icu. Anyway bumped it up using a near all out 10 min effort until the negative went away.

I've learned that I speak like someone in Phoenix. Odd, since I've never been there.

I did the thing and it was quite accurate for where I grew up in North-Central NJ.

I'm all over. I think the PA/MD/VA area is probably the closest. Or at least biographically, that makes the most sense.

Nice pic from the local figher wing today!

Flying inverted, snapping pics of three F-35s flying over the Grand Canyon.

My reaction to several of the questions, which may account for messy results.
