Addiction LXXX

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Many sidewalks here are right against the road. Of the ones that do have a "road verge," width varies but a majority aren't much wider than that required for telephone poles or small trees.

They didn't have them where I grew up, so any grass between the sidewalk and the road was weeds growing in the cracks.

For those of you who took the quiz and it matched up well, how long did you live in that area?

Due to my father's Air Force career I moved around every 3-4 years until I was 13 where we then stayed in Texas for the next 10ish years.

I'm no expert, but I'd say the first six years are way more important than anything afterward.

actually, I am yellow in most of the country outside of Louisiana and Bo-Wash area that is blue. A big chunk of middle America is reddish. I guess that is a visual representation of awesomeness.

Definitely. I answered based on my real native responses, but I actually use regionalisms from where I’m living at the moment. Boston in particular has so many unique and odd expressions and locutions you can’t live there and not try them out.

I tend to agree. Maybe up to 10 or 12 but certainly our dialect is mostly locked in by before 18.
