Recessed brake bolts... kinda deeper than I think they should be.
Hi all. Bringing a KHS Flite 300 back from the dead and I've encountered some stubborn recessed brake bolts. Both rear (alloy frame) and front (carbon fork) required me to spin out the brake calipers versus the bolts loosening. It's almost as if they've dug into the recesses.
I'm going to try reverse threading tonight but has anyone got any ideas? Sorry for no pics... still too new.

Nuts. You're having problems w/ brake nuts, not bolts. I've never had one that I couldn't get out. Penetrating oil is your friend. What do you mean by 'reverse threading'?

Thread a bolt of the proper size in from the other side and give it a tap.

Lots of production frames have paint residue still in the brake mounting holes. Add miles of grime or galvanic corrosion to further plug the recessed nut inside the hole... Usually with twisting the nut with the wrench and adding some light oil the nut is able to be removed without drama. Carbon fork brake recessed nut holes might be one of the more neglected points on a bike. Andy

Apparently even the name I'm having issues with. Lifelong problem. Plus, I'm glad you added 'brake' and didn't write 'your'...
