Addiction LXXX

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm drinking my Saturday morning pot of coffee now. No mention of Coke. Put a sprinkle of cinnamon in the grounds for a very subtle hint of flavor. It's rather imperceptible but adds a smoothness that I like once in a while.
Note: The cinnamon anecdote is bonus content.

Of of course they called it pop down there which only further diminished my juvenile view of southern culture.

I used to have a poor opinion of grits as a food source until I lived on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. I grew to love grits and now miss it for breakfast.

Riding without data was refreshing, but 30ish missing miles, and pulling the phone out to check the time is a pain.
Last weekend, mine suddenly went to the "Garmin" screen when was 2 miles from home after 50-some miles. I thought it would be like when your computer gives you the Blue Screen Of Death, and lose everything, but it apparently was still recording through the weirdness. Still have no idea what was going on.

I was born in Illinois and still have relatives there. I'm used to hearing about pop.

In Eastern Pennyslvania, it's soda. In Western Pennsylvania it's pop. I remember going into the Breezewood Rest Stop on the PA Turnpike, roughly in the middle, and I swear to god the machine said "Soda Pop".

I'm just oblivious sometimes. At least I can laugh at myself about it.

Gee, I wonder why this drivetrain is so noisy all the time...
