Degreaser for Finish Line Extreme Fluoro

What type of fluorinated solvent normally gets used for this type of grease? Since PFPE needs special degreaser then nothing else will work if one wants to clean all of the old grease out during routine maintenance process.

I clean the old grease, of any type, out of hub, bottom bracket and headset bearings with a paper towel or a disposable rag. There is no need to have them chemically clean.

Doesn't that leave traces of contaminated grease containing metallic wear particles, etc.?

It does? ruh-roh...

I've always used either odorless mineral spirits, or WD-40, to clean any caked-on Finish Line Extreme Fluoro off my coupler threads. Seems to work fine. :::shrugs:::

Mechanical removal (wiping bearings and races clean) gets almost everything off. Dissolve the grease around the the microscopic particles, and they may still stick to the surface. It's not worth worrying about.

I use a paper towel with WD40 to remove old grease and crud. What I can't seem to get rid of are those stupid tachyon particles. Any thoughts on what solvent I should use for those?
