cycling downhill
I took off on a ride towards the coast and most of the ride was downhill, at about the fifteen mile mark I knew the trip back would be harder so I turned around but to my surprise it was downhill on the return also and actually took me less time to return anybody ever expereince such a ride?

I’ve had rides where it was uphill both ways but never down. Congratulations.

How old are you? Once you hit 50, it's all downhill from there.

I remember years ago touring through Vermont, riding alongside a river. All the scenery told my eyes that I was going slightly downhill, but I had to pedal all the time just to keep going. I actually stopped and checked to see if one of my brake calipers was stuck and dragging. Then, I realized that the water in the river was flowing in the opposite direction to my riding - and water doesn't flow uphill.

Opening day of the 2010 Cycle Oregon, we rode from Elgin, OR (2000') to Enterprise (4000') up the Wallawa River. 50 miles, perhaps 25 beside the river. Weird. River was fast flowing, even rapids but it felt like we were going downhill. Even where it was obvious we were going uphill, it was easy. (Amazing wheat fresh legs and a tailwind can do.)

I've never experienced that, but I have frequently experienced the Omnidirectional Headwind.
