Are all trigger shifters = when it comes to how far you need to push to change gears? This is for the front derailleur on a triple.

In my experience they are all pretty similar. If they can be operated in push/push mode you can rotate the shifter back, and get a more downward motion from the paddle. I have some ancient XT 7spd push/push shifters that actually do seem to have a short throw, but 7spd integrated shift/brake canti/short pull only.

Luckily for me it's my right hand that is messed up, and the right shifter generally takes less effort/distance to shift. Is the shifter running into things, or is there a hand/thumb related issue?
