BB5 brakes are noisy.
Have changed from V brake to BB5 disc front and rear (no adapters needed) using the OEM BB5 pads. The front is a 205mm disc and made a squeak until I shimmed up the caliper a few millimeters to get the wear pattern past the radial spokes of the disc. Now it just makes that nasty grind/sandy noise. The rear made the same noise squeak but its a 160mm disc. Tried shimming it up too, but no change. The brakes work well, the disc is not pulled far off center when squeezed and the brakes stop hard. Just hate the noise.
I have another bike with front disk using Organic pads, and it nearly dead silent.
I can live with that semi-metalic pad grinding noise as long as the darn squeak goes away. Hate that loud squeal every time I touch the rear brake.
BTW, under heavy braking, the rear does not squeal.
What is a guy to do?

220 grit emery paper.
