Having trouble finding the age of my Schwinn bike

Greetings!

I just bought an old Schwinn bike, the previous owner wasn't sure of its age, but assumes it's from the 1980s.

I can't upload photos, but my serial is SB205657

And the 4 digit number on the front badge is 0602

I did try the unofficial Schwinn serial decoder online, but it didn't recognize the serial number

Hopefully someone here will know!

Thank you!

I believe your frame was made on the 60th day of 1982 if I remember how to decipher the headbadge number correctly. That serial number tool you were using only recognizes Chicago built Schwinns. 060 is day 60 and 2 is 1982.

I can usually just figure that out by googling the make&model, and finding a picture of one, the same color, since most bikes only came in two to three colors a year.
