Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The Dams Challenge - Perth, WA

Just signed up for the Dams Challenge and wondered if there's anybody else here doing it and want to get out on the hills beforehand? Feel free to private message.

Looked at the price of it in the past.
Keep thinking I'd rather spend that money on more tyres or other bike things

Done similar routes plenty of times, but it can be good fun riding with others.

I guess SPR would be one mob who'd have a bunch attending, as usual.
You're probably aware of their regular hill rides.

Me too.

Totally off the subject, but amusing, so I'll share. A girlfriend about 10 years back had a GPS for her car, and she programmed it to use the burly male Australian voice when giving directions. Whenever it would encounter a WA State highway, it would say, for instance, "Turn right on Western Australia State Route 520."
