1971 Bianchi Frame, Fork and Head Set...
THE FRAME AND FORK SET HAVE BEEN SOLD
Since this early seventies Bianchi is too big for me, I have decided to put it up for sale on Ebay as soon as I strip it. Before I do that, however, I will offer it here for considerably less that I intend to offer it for on Ebay. I want $300.00 US for the frame, fork and lovely internal headset. The frame needs painting, in my opinion but the buyer will have to make that call for him or her self. Also, the original owner ran the brake cable through the frame's top tube. For an additional $50.00 I will include the decal set that I bought when planning to restore the bike.
The frame features Columbus Special tubing and Campagnolo drops. The bike is already boxed but, as I recall, it is 60cm (c-c) on the seat tube. I will confirm measurements when I unpack the box. If the buyer wants to buy any of the components, feel free to ask for prices. I already have enough Campagnolo stuff.
Why am I selling it? It is too big for me and I already have two projects waiting for my attention, Have a look at the pictures of the assembled bike but keep in mind, I am offering the frame, fork and head set only. As I recall, the headset operated smoothly. I cannot remember if I pulled the forks off or not before I packed the bike up for shipping (was going to send it to my son who then ran out of money - long story). I am going to take the bike out of the box but am in the middle of stacking a cord of Birch fire wood. Perhaps I will get to the Bianchi on the weekend, in fact, I will get to it on the weekend as I want to list it on Ebay. I will get back to you with an answer to your headset question as soon as I open the box. Sorry to be slow but I gotta get that wood put away asap so that I will have heat when I need it...

I disassembled the Bianchi yesterday. The frame measurements requested are: ST (c-c) = 59 cm plus a wee bit and TT (c-c) = 59 cm. Seat tube lug inner diameter = 27.2mm. I took the fork off of the frame, wiped the bearing cups and cones down for a good inspection and all is well. The bearing tracks are easy to see and there is no pitting. I should add that the headset bearing condition is an important item.

too bad PO drilled holes in the top tube. i wonder if there are some kind of braze-ons that can be employed to dress up those holes.

I disassembled the Bianchi the other day. What you see in these pictures is what is included for no extra charge. The extras include the original clamp on Campagnolo shifters and the shifter cables guide, again a Campagnolo item. The BF buyer is also, again for no extra cost, welcome to have the Campagnolo seat post (I did not include a picture of the seat post but it is in good condition, I just have no use for it and it might as well go with the frame). I am trying to make this an attractive offer since shipping from where I live to just about anywhere else is costly. The three extras should significantly offset the cost to ship...

Bumping this for Randy. If I weren't beholden to restoring the 1972 Raleigh Professional frame that my uncle officially gave to me recently I would honestly prefer tackling this Bianchi... Alas, the component list and reasons to ride each bike would be too similar.

Based on the serial number, it would be their top of the line road bike. Based on my research, it is a transitional model from the integrated head set to the non-integrated set. This is a link that helped me to determine its pedigree...
