Zoot brand trishorts I get them 1 size up due to my belly, so xxl
they have a thin liner
i also wear them under gym shorts at the gym for the treadmill & weight training circuit stations. Nice for the moisture management
been using them for over a decade. Don’t leave them at the gym they are expensive & ppl swipe them
also good that they are quick drying so I can wash them before dinner hang them to dry & they are ready for use the next morning

I've had good luck with Bellweather, Cannondale and Performance.
Current favorite by far are JL Velo, several pairs gifted to me by the original owner of the company when I bought the big chrome Ritchey from him a couple of years ago.
He sold the company so don't think they are the same and maybe not even made anymore.

Not the longest lasting but the fit is (for me) sublime - Segoi. By far the best genital management I have ever ridden. Even on really hot days when everything is loose and sliding around. All the other details are (again, for me) fit-wise right on.

I guess I'm a bit on the retro-grouch spectrum, and have a preference for natural fibers, so my favorites are the merino wool shorts from 2velo. Minimal, real chamois 'padding', thin-ish weave, so good in hot weather, and pretty hard to beat the price. Legs are about mid-thigh, so a little shorter than current cycle-shorts 'style'. Merino, so they dry fast, don't retain odors, don't need washing too often.

I don't have anything current, but last I bought shorts, I got some Garneau and Castelli bibs I like. Sadly, my shorts are slowly dying, and I'll have to find new ones.

I thought I liked Louis Garneau FitSensor bibs, till I bought some LeCol 'Haut Categorie' bibs. SO much better - fit, chamois, junk retention, etc. I took a chance on them at 50% off and bought 2 pair, figuring if I didn't like them I could return one pair unused. Now I wish I'd bought a bunch, because who knows if I'll ever see that price again? I got a pair of their entry level 'Sport' bibs and they're good - better than the Garneaus - but not as good as the Haut Categories.
EDIT: I should note that I greatly increased my yearly mileage since 2020, so I figured the comfort of my nethers is worth the extra expense.

Pearl Izumi bibs have always done the job for me, so I have not experimented much. I confess I do not like the switch to "laser cut" strap edges (not an issue in actually wearing them but they are annoying to deal with when putting them on), but what'cha gonna do?
I also have a pair of Ibex wool bibs that I use almost exclusively for special events (Eroica and the like). They have a modern pad (not a chamois) and work just fine as well, but since Ibex is out of the cycling clothing business and I can't get more I limit my use of them and almost always reach for the Pearl Izumis.

Americans (in particular..) are way, waaaay over obsessed with laundry/clothes-washing, etc. Merino wool has anti-microbial properties, as do most chamois creams. Keep your body clean and there's no reason to wash merino after every wearing. Of course, the clothing/fashion industry would prefer you wash everything as much as possible, to wear things out as fast as possible, so things need replacing as often as possible. Not to mention the water and energy usage excessive washing consumes. But to each their own- I'm comfortable with a sniff-test being a guide, others are more comfortable with daily laundering.

Do you wash your groin and buttocks with germicide immediately prior to putting on your shorts? No matter how well you wash yourself, you will never be sufficiently clean for that. Have fun with infected saddle sores I guess. Incidentally, I'm no germophobe, but I'm realistic about "down there," and I have dealt with a nasty bit of saddle sores in the past. Also, sniff test? Ewww! Seriosly ewww!

I've been wearing Pearl Izumi shorts then bibs for decades. 3 years ago the team at our Thailand factory was ordering some custom jerseys/shorts/bibs with our company logo on it from a local company (Forz). I was new at the company and thought I should buy a pair, but I also figured that they would be uncomfortable since they were so cheap so I would just use them for short rides from work. I really like them. I now have 2 sets and can't wait for the next round of ordering so I can get 2-3 more.

Well, like I wrote (and probably should've underlined and put in bold...)- to each their own. I've never had an issue with saddle sores or infections. But sure, I get it- I floss my teeth multiple times a day and plenty of people find that excessive.
