I went into the search function to find this thread today, and by the time I finished scrolling through and looking at all the cool old stickers it had gotten bumped onto the first page. 
This sticker is from the Stella I bought this weekend.
Does anyone happen to know if this shop was connected to the Stella Bicycle Shop that the founders of Trek owned before founding Trek? It would seem like a bold move putting that name on their sticker if they weren't. Vitesse still seems to be in business, but now in Normal, IL. Their web site mentions that they sold Stellas in Madison in 1976 (which is weird, given that Stella went out of business in 1975).

To the best of my knowledge this does link to the founding of TREK. One of the main players in Stella Madison was Bevel Hogg, who would join forces with Dick Burke to found Trek Bicycles in Waterloo.

Bevel Hogg and Tom French recruited me away from Yellow Jersey in Madison in 1981 to start up the Trek parts company in the original Trek manufacturing plant in Waterloo. Interesting times for certain.

Shop stickers from my town:
Broadway Cyclery. I bought my first real road bike here in 1975, an Italvega Nuovo Record. This sticker is on my Raleigh Pro track bike. I think Broadway closed in the early 1980's when the old downtown area decayed.
Pictures I've gleaned from local classifieds:
Green's Cyclery, a Schwinn dealer that closed in the 1980's
Scobee's Bike Shop, a small neighborhood shop that closed in the 1970's.
Cyclopath Bicycles. They were bought out by the Performance Bike Shop chain which of course has since closed. Cyclopath's owner then opened a new LBS down the street and is thriving
Steven's Bike Shop opened in the 1950's, changed owners in the late 1970's, moved out to the more affluent suburbs several years ago and is doing well.

I just acquired a '78 Super Course yesterday. It needs a good cleaning, has a few scrapes, but no rust anywhere I can find. The sticker is from Arizona, which might explain the lack of rust. The crank is just a trial fit, not screwed on. Interesting in that it looks like the sticker is serialized. Never seen that. 
Try Me is a great C&V-style shop, with a good inventory of restored/fixed used & new bicycles + parts & accessories. And Leon is a great guy. Worth a visit if you're in the Phoenix area (just not on Sunday or Tuesday).

I tend not to put stickers on my elegant bikes, but the gaudy TT bike had this at the top of the seat tube.
Here's an old battered sew-up rim I killed in some feat of stupidity a long time ago.

Velo Sport, an iconic, now defunct shop in Berkeley, California. Early importer of Masi and Colnago; employer at one time of Albert Eisentraut; sponsor of Velo Club Berkeley which included George Mount and Mike Neel.
This is from a Gitane Tour de France, generously sent my way by @curbtender. I've just put the finishing touches on it and am impatiently waiting for these interminable rains to end so I can ride it.

This is the now defunct bike shop that sold my Revolution E-Stay bike. Bike Beat. I haven't been able to find out much about them except that they were a premier shop in the '80-'90s.

I suppose this one qualifies? I grew up in a rural area, so the Sears Roebuck catalog was our link to keeping up with the Joneses in the big city. A lot of kids' bikes were ordered from the Christmas Wish Book to be shipped to the local Sears catalog store for pickup. If the catalog said it was "Sears Finest", you knew it was going to be top quality.
With such a price jump from the next lower model, it better be worth it!
