Went out this a.m. with the intention of doing a 50-60 mile ride with the group. The heat and humidity were overwhelming and I ended up splitting off and doing 30-ish with two fast guys with hangovers and someone else who was feeling the conditions too. As soon as I wasn’t oppressed by the prospect of a death march in 76% dew point, I perked up and concentrated my meager resources on making those hangovers worse.

I drove 30 minutes to meet up with 14 riders in the avocado growing area north of here. There was a short loop but 10 of us opted for the longer 68 mile ride. It wasn't too hot and I had a great time. Here, I'm second from left.
A few low clouds early.

There was one 3 mile climb carved into this hill.
Miles of farmland.
And miles of quiet back roads.
Some pretty flowers, too.

64 miles on the disk bike. I think I finally figured out my discontent with that bike. The brake levers/hoods aren't even. The right side is higher than the left. Not a lot but enough that after a few seconds on the hoods I'm fighting with the bars. Probably pull it apart tonight, fix it and rewrap the bars.

No. Years ago we would pick some and get some beer and drive into the hills and gorge on avocados. I used to keep a salt shaker in my truck for those occasions.
Today this guy had the noisiest rear hub I've heard and he kept getting on my wheel. I don't blame him, if I could draft a guy a foot taller than I am I would probably do it.
Anyway when we stopped I asked if that was one of those new L.O.U.D. hubs. It took a minute but he finally laughed.

Got the bolt out. I think big john said it would twist with my fingers and he was right.
The pinch bolts on the crank didn’t feel all that tight. On the arm it states they should be at 12nm-14nm. I am not an expert but it didn’t take any effort for me to loosen them at all. I hope that’s the issue.
Trying to get the arm off as we speak. I have a rubber mallet and I am tapping the arm. It has moved a little bit but not enough for me to remove it yet.

Yeah the little lady had the As on the big TV while I was watching minor league action on the computer in my office, I popped in for a little of the As game too. Mariners game starts pretty soon, but I'm picking up Five Guys right now...

This side feels silky smooth.
This side isn’t as smooth as the non drive side but I don’t feel any of the bearings catching.
Other than clean and re grease, which I plan on putting grease enfront and behind the bearings and also on the spindle. Is there anything else I should do?
