At the end of a workday a few years ago I came to the parking lot and one of my truck's tires was flat. While changing it a young intern came out and asked me where the spare tire came from, so I had to tell her how older cars (and a few new ones) came with a spare tire just for this purpose. She was baffled why new cars (like hers) don't have a spare, and why I didn't just call the Auto Club to get it fixed (I can do it quicker than the time it would take the auto club to get to me).

When you decline to fill in the part of the medical questionnaire for "surgeries" as you've had too many to list.

Same. But after the initial annoyance, I tell myself that it's not that I'm getting old, I've always been absent-minded---and that people who aren't forgetful must have brains that are blissfully unencumbered with complex thoughts.

I realize that I'm old when I'm filling out a form or application on-line and have to scroll way way way down to get to my birth year.

I turn 55 next month. My wife keeps picking on me saying that soon I'll be able to pick from the senior citizen menu.

When your friends say, Let’s have dinner at 4:30 so we don’t have to drive in the dark.
When your friends drive sensible cars. Yeah you may not be a teenager but do you really have to give up all excitement?

When you talk to a customer on the phone and having never met or seen each other, they call you "Mr. Gary" by the end of the call.
I'm 62 and ride 7,500 miles annually. Drives me crazy!

…old when, you say your first bike was a flat bar, gravel fixie-
otherwise known a single speed balloon tired 35 lb non-descript bike with a heavy duty paper delivery rack on the back and infamous coaster brake which could lay rubber all day long. (And it did)

My Chinese friends call me Unlce. For those don't know that's something you say to a older person kind of like saying sir.
My drug store sends me texts for shingles. Like wtf is that? I never had it but I guess I am the right demographic for it now.

I’m old enough to know that you meant to type AFX Aurora, and probably older then you, as I have over 100’ of Aurora Model Motoring Stirling Moss HO slot car track, and cars. Model Motoring predated AFX, but we have some of those cars too. My son and I are still playing around with it.

When your bicycle(s) are older than the person waiting on you in the store.
True story:
I went into my LBS a year or more ago with my mid-1980's Pinarello. I didn't want to leave it locked outside the shop. The young lad came up to me and asked if I was looking to upgrade. I told him no, but I did need a couple of tires. He showed me what he had and asked, "Can I show you a really nice bike?". Sure I said. He pulled a carbon bike down from the rack. Boy it sure was nice. I then asked him, "Will I be able to ride this bike 35 years from now?"
Then I got the deer-in-the-headlights look. I think he was maybe 22 or 23.
