Even if I am having a bad day (unbelievable isn’t it?) going for a quick ride brightens my day.

For me, often the start of a ride is the worst, especially if I sort of forced myself out because I felt I had too. However, after 50+ years as a cyclist, I well know that the longer I keep going the better I will feel, that is until I don't. Arthritis and age have caught up with me so I can't do the long rides I did 10 years ago. This is one reason I bought a gravel bike this year, I can vary terrain much more than I can on my road bike, ride for about the same amount of time but not have to go as far from home

Sometimes I have to force or shame myself into going out riding. However I've never regretted going out on the bike for a ride once I begin to pedal.

Can't say I agree with above
so for myself the quote is gibberish. Guess I'm just a simpleton.

Riding a bicycle can be a vicious cycle, & the never ending chain of its use can stem from many things.

I have, on a few occasions when I went out thinking I can get back before it starts raining, and was wrong.

Excellent point. There have been days I didn’t want to go ride but got out there anyway and always had a good ride. Other days all I could talk myself into was a short ride that turned into a longer ride. Never regretted a ride either.
