Thank you MH. You're right on the Wheels Manufacturing idea. I will go that route in the long run but for now I'm casually looking incase I find a cheap hub that I can pillage. This morning I installed a set of tubulars which are always a nice ride. I will give it a week or two and if no luck Wheels Manufacturing will get a call. Good thing about them - everyone seem to have a horror story about having an axle snap for an original 6/7/8 speed freewheel yet no one seems to have horror stories about Wheels Manufacturing axles......

cause IMHO they make a quality product with quality steel. But they ain't cheap.
One of the "ya gets what ya pays for" stories, which is not always true, these days.

Quite possibly due to them not having a slot.

Axle slots are a bad idea, just like flutes in seatposts.

I am looking for one Campagnolo (third generation SR) brake caliper cone-shaped nut. The third generation Super Record nut was not dome shaped like the first and second generation and not quite pyramid shaped like the later Chorus ones. Thank you!

To "Trade": Heliomatic hub set, presently assembled to CR18 rims. I can remove pretty quick. If someone can use the hubs or parts of the hubs..... if.
The rear hub has a PROBLEM: details here: https://www.bikeforums.net/bicycle-m...ad-repair.html -- so I guess the rear hub is only for the axle and cones.

The freewheel is fine. Let me know if more photos are needed.

- I opted not to JB weld ..... stuff.... together. So the lock ring and freewheel are good to go.

Front hub is OK. I have an axle and cones I can include in the deal. The front Malliard axle is not a thread pitch Wheels sells. And Wheels doesn't take returns, but somebody here gifted me an axle after I bought the cones.

I'm looking for a 19-21" mixte frameset that can accommodate 650x42b tires with fenders.

My mom decided she wanted a bike after I got the rest of the family riding again, and she really liked the look of the dual top tubes on my girlfriend's mixte. Something at the level of a Motobecane Grand Jubilee would be great, but I realize 650b mixtes less common. My mom's not super picky but if I could find something with lighter-weight tubing I'm sure she'd be appreciative.

Looking for a 40 hole front tandem hub. Rear is an old Phil Wood, but I'm not going to get too hung up on matching that.

I've got various hubs, if that's what you're wanting to trade. A Nuevo Record front, a low flange Campy front. A Suzue sealed pair 100/126, an American Classic 126 rear. Other stuff too!

I have a Schwinn Traveler Sports that may be what you are looking for. The sloping top tube is single, but splits at the seat tube. Frame is Cro-Mo, stem shifters, etc. It's pretty much a complete project that never was finished.

Rooney I have a 19" Univega step through with CrMo tubes that takes 700c wheels. The shiny red paint is beat, but it could make a sweet cruiser. I'd bet 35s would clear no problem. But I suppose it isn't what you were asking for...

I was looking at a lovely Centurion mixte from probably the late 70's and thought about your ask. The problem will be brake reach... you may have to use dropbolts.

Now this Centurion was designed around 630 wheels so it may take a fat 700c. I'm going to look at it again on Sunday.

Great value for a nice bike but again, those brakes won't work on 650's.

Have you considered a 26" mixte? I know of the Schwinn Mirada and Nishiki had a 26" mixte as well........and likely a few others. The Mirada may have evolved from year to year and there are models with 4130 tubing and reasonably good components.

I appreciate all the options provided. I don’t know that any seem like exactly what we’re looking for, although the idea of building up one of those Soma Buena Vistas is appealing. Seems like it may be less hassle than finding an ideal 650b conversion candidate too since it’s already designed for it.

Here's one of those minor-yet-important irritants that puts an entire project on hold. Open to requests for any couple of small items that I might have in exchange. I need two rear axle spacers. Could be either 2mm or 3mm. Yeah, I could probably run down to Ace and get something close or buy some of the pure gold ones I see for sale online, but figured I'd check here first.

How about a ~1980 Peugeot AO-18? It has 27" wheels, and I could slip in my 650b wheels to see if they fit. My tires are 38mm tires and estimate the clearance for 42mm tires.
