Brompton Electric Clone
Just saw it online , a Brompton Electric Clone. I believe it is made in China factories. The wholesale price( battery excluded) is 500 USD. Wanna hear some opinions from you guys.

What kind of crankset/botton-bracket is this?

James Starley invented the tangential spoke pattern in the 1870s. As they discovered on the old penny-farthings it is much stronger than radial spoking when transmitting torque. Small diameter rims and large diameter hubs are progressively more problematic to build into wheels as spoking pattern approaches tangential. Solving this problem by going to a radial spoking pattern for a front hub motor - as I see done on a great many small wheel ebikes - is probably not a great idea. The better manufacturers do one-cross in this application.

Not exactly. They've used an interesting, unique 'splayed, paired' 28-spoke pattern on the Brompton. Durable & robust? I dunno, but clearly some thought went into it.

From an opinion standpoint ( he slowly climbs onto his soapbox... ) I have a moral problem with purchasing ANY knock-off, clone, or other offspring of the theft of another's I.P. or hard-earned good reputation.
That said, no matter how good it MAY prove to be (or not) I'd never consider it, as I'd always feel like I was riding on some pirated plunder. Thats just not how I want to roll.
