"Safe" to ride Mt. Tam area on my own?
Hi everyone,
I want to ride Mt. Tam via Hwy 1; Bolinas-Fairfax Rd; Ridgecrest Blvd; Pan Toll; Panoramic Hwy. The last time I rode was with my boyfriend, but he won't be available this time and I really, really want to ride!!
Any thoughts on riding these roads alone? I think they're pretty well-visited by cyclists on their own and in groups, so if I run into a problem someone might pass by?
Thanks!

You will be fine. Careful on descent towards Fairfax it can be a bit sketchy in the winter with pine needles and leafs on the ground.

Bring your flat kit, pump, etc. Bring your ID, cash and CC. Bring your cell phone.

You'll most likely end up finding someone riding at your pace, so just link up with them. I've met some strange folks on bicycles while out riding, but never a dangerous kind of strange.

I had no issues on my own. My only close call was with a midday deer.
