Astra Grand Luxe
Astras were made by Motobecanes and were mainly lower end bikes. This looks to be a higher end Astra and it even includes as a bonus the problematic paint on some of the older Motobecanes. OK to interesting grab bag of parts. This looks to be a Reynolds 531 frame. The seller wants $180 which is overpriced I think but the bike is interesting in a C&V kind of way.

Agreed. That is a good price for a Stumpjumper these days. Even the Sport version. I'm on the very casual lookout for one locally.

As a shop, they should be listing as "By Dealer", and paying for the ad. This is the business model by which craigslist is able to remain free for non-commercial sellers, without resorting to the social media / spyware model. Commercial sellers like this not paying their way puts the business model at risk.

Frame is Reynolds 531.
Gearing is 3x5. The large and middle chainrings are set up like the old school half-step gearing, plus the smaller/3rd chainring provides bail-out gearing. If you rode bikes in the 1960s-1970s then you can appreciate this setup.
Frame measures about 60-61cm center to top for the seattube, and about 56cm center to center for the top tube.
27 wheels with good tread on the Continental Gatorskin tires.
This could be a nice bike for LEroica events, or a faster option for vintage Tweed rides.
It could also be an easy single-speed conversion if you just want one gear ratio.
Two sizes too tall for my comfort these days so it is up for sale. I will consider some trades.
