Nope, this burgundy color is a match to the original peeling paint that was on the frame when I got it. There was a lot of speculation at the time that it was a custom paint by Raleigh, but I never could nail that theory down. Regardless, I liked it enough that Groody Bros. came up with a more than passingly adequate match.

No progress -- involved in some personal non-bike issues recently. I recently bought a very nice 50s English frame that's maybe going to take some time (will post photos soon). And I'm building a vintage bike for my son too, which occupies the front burner, project-wise.

Posted before, but since a new International dedicated tread has been started this is my 1974 International. Upgraded by original owner with period correct all Campy / Cinelli components.

Here is my 1974 International, which I built as an all-purpose bike. I brought it into my cluttered office recently. I commute on it nearly every day. I like it a lot, at least as much as I had hoped to. It has a 3x10 drivetrain.

I like your updated build up noglider, especially the wheel selection with the higher spoke count upfront where the rack is. I could commute on that bike all day long, but then, I wouldn’t really be commuting! That’s an interesting light up front. I’m not real familiar with modern lights that operate on a dynamo. Is that LED and will it stay lit for awhile if the wheel is not in motion?

It's a Busch & Müller LUMOTEC IQ FLY SENSO PLUS 174QSNDI. Yes, with LEDs, and yes, it stays on after I stop. Dynamo lights are the bee's knees. I keep them on day and night, and I just get on and ride.
I can fit 32mm tires in there but maybe not wider because of the space between the chain stays. On @ascherer's 1971 model, there is more room once you pinch the stays.

It’s a 1971, bought 2years back as a frame and fork, I had a Campy NR drivetrain and headset on hand, built wheels from NOS Shimano 600 high-flange hubs and Mavic Module 3 rims, now running Comapss Bon Jon Pass lightweights. On this rim they measure a hair over 33mm and just fit the rapid taper stays. Acquired the Weinmanns and slotted Carlton levers. I’ve just recently added the Holdsworth-branded drillium IRD compact crank.

'74 International in dire need of TLC
Bought this today from the original owner. The serial number starts with WD4. It's filthy dirty but has lots of great parts including Campy brakes. Original tubular wheels with Campy hubs were replaced with clincher, Zeus hubbed wheels. The paint is rough and decals are gone but chrome looks ok beneath the grime. Will be fun to clean this up over the winter.

Nice find! Your right the chrome does look like it wil polish up well when the bike is cleaned. Is that motor oil all over the drive train? I hope not for your sake...I hate cleaning that. Are the seat stays okay? Have you looked under that orange tape? Hope to see more pics as you make progress. Congratulations! Internationals are great!

The International cleaned up beautifully. The chrome was remarkably intact and polished up nicely. Decals from Velocals. Haven’t ridden it yet but will do so soon.
