I understand that bridges need replaced. But at least this new bridge has some design to it. When we get new bridges, it's just concrete

It's a pleasant ride but not a fast route: squiggles, turns, intersections, other path users.

gomango , I'd heard that you went fully over to the gravel world since the last time that I saw you in MSP back in 2013 or so. Good to see that you're still into the vintage world a bit. Hope that you're doing well!
Too much hockey in my youth.
I still have a few neat vintage bikes here and mostly gravel/mtb bikes at this point.
A Yeti ARC C1.5, Salsa Blackborow, Salsa Beargrease, a Black Mountain Cycles Monstercross and a Sachs cross bike are the main riders.
Unfortunately, I have sold many of my beautiful vintage bikes to fund my fly rod hobby and seed $$$ for my fly rod building venture.
Scott Gabriel got me hooked on fly fishing all over again and he suggested that I try my hand at building from scratch. I'm not building bamboo, just graphite blanks from Sage and R. L. Winston. It's a ton of fun and will suit me well when I retire after the coming school year.

Another London bridge which I've used many times but didn't realise was there - and I was probably drunk at the time (Druids Head pub is near by).
Not the greatest looking bridge, but possibly the oldest, built in 1175.

Built in the early 1920s, well before Hitler's rise to power, this bridge is at the entrance to a local park. It is adorned with swastikas that from time to time upset people unfamiliar with the fact that before Nazi Germany, this was a symbol of good luck to the native Americans that lived in the area or that the symbol has been around for centuries and used by people all over the world. The bridge sides are falling apart with much visible rebar and I fear that one day it will be too far gone to restore.

Out here, there is a ride we call the "short loop" to the Rockaways. It's 32 miles for me and I cross 9 different bridges. Also, I only have to cross the first one, twice. Well, I did that ride today and here are the bridges, in order. Note, they replaced most of these bridges, recently. So, a lot of them look the same.

In addition to the above post. If you want to double the mileage, you can ride out to Point Lookout. But, you have to ride over (*what I called in an early post) "The Cheese Grater". Here's a photo of that one. It's taken from the pedestrian walkway ($250 fine for riding on the pedestrian walkway). I didn't take if from the roadway, because I would have been run over so many times before any one knew what happened and the guys would have to change the nickname of the bridge to "The Play-Doh Fun Factory".
Now, if you still want a few extra miles, you can turn into the Shirley Chisolm State Park and cross over a small wooden bridge. This one is sketchy on wet days.
