Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My 71 914 converted to a 6 cylinder. A fast go kart in the corners and always gets lots of thumbs up.

The Prizm and the Corolla both came from United Motors in Fremont, California, at least for several years. The Metro was a Suzuki product, as was the Tracker.

Osprey. They actually dive into the water to snatch a fish whereas an eagle only snatches fish on the surface, barely gets his legs wet.

My first was a Celica that I bought new after graduating from high school. By the time I finished grad school it was in the same type of shape with a big rust problem. I tried to trade it in, but was told I'd have to pay the disposal fee.

I try not to repeat, but I would make an exception for a TR.

My first car was supposed to be a Spitfire. Had the order in for a few months. Then the strike came, and you couldn’t get one. Needed a car, so switched to aCelica. That was in 1975.

Nothing you can do about it either. Buy the right ‘old’ car and you might have an appreciating asset. I have made money on my last three classic car sales. Being old and experienced, can pay.

My first car was a 1956 VW Beetle. The one with the oval rear window. I should have kept that car. Restored it would be a nice car and almost worth the cost of restoration. My second car was Triumph Herald. Then I had a succession of old English cars, mainly Vauxhalls before buying my first Citroen.
If I had kept the bug, or the Citroen DSuper and done them up It would have cost the same as the multitude of old cars I've owned and I've have a nice appreciating asset.
But most the old cars were fun. At least until cost of repairs got too much. Then I'd buy another older car. rinse, repeat. I'm a slow learner.

No riding this weekend, heading to NJ for family visit. I am confident I will be kicked off the podium later today.

Short ride this morning, I've got a couple other things going on, but felt good in a little TT effort; this was actually the first time that I've bumped my FTP estimate on intervals.icu with a 10 min effort, rather than the more common (for me) 3 or 4 min effort (I think that this is more a reflection of riding conditions, than anything else; hard to get in a non-stop 10 min effort with stop signs and traffic lights every half mile).

It's lookin' like a tough podium this week.
