I'm looking for front thru-axle replacement/spare with a part that measure 135mm but doesn't thread into the fork.

I recently purchased a titanium bike fork from Tiris (https://www.aliexpress.com/store/1101508453) that has been working great for me but it has a bit of a unique setup. The fork dropouts are unthreaded.

The thru-axle slots in and then the exposed threads have a retaining nut (that's plastic).

Before I head back to Ali Express, was just curious what the other options were, if any? That seems like an odd ball size.

It's a 12mm axle with a 135mm length, 20mm thread length, M12 x 1.5mm thread pitch. Seems to be a unicorn size. That thread length and overall length are unusual.

If you want to replace the plastic nut with a metal one, McMaster-Carr has M12x1.5mm nuts in a variety of materials and configurations including several grades of carbon and stainless steel. Yes indeed, it was a mistake/typo on my end in the subject line. Indeed, I don't know of anyone that makes a TA with such a total length and thread length. Virtually all of the 12x100 axles I've found/tried are all 112 because they're threading directly into the opposite side fork leg. But because this doesn't thread and needs to clear the unthreaded fork leg it's another 23mm.

Awesome, thanks, that'll be a good start. Honestly that's been my biggest fear, given the uniqueness of the axle. Losing/braking the nut. This is perfect, thank you.

M12x1.5 is a very common size for automotive wheel lug nuts. The problem is most are a cone seat type but an open type, (non acorn) could be flipped and threaded on the other way.

You could find a Boost front axle with a length of 129mm, but the thread length will only be 12-15mm.

I'll give it a look. I ultimately ordered a couple of options via Ali Express as it became clear to me that it was a unicorn size. Lesson learned, love the fork but because it's unique and sourced from overseas, I guess they decided to go non-standard. It was odd when they said the fork was unthreaded but it looks like that's how all of them are done.

You could find a nut at any hardware store that has a decent supply of metric and stainless hardware. No need to order it online, just take the bolt , AKA thru axle (to get the right diameter and thread) and go pick one up. They might even have ny-lock type and/or hard nylon/synthetic as well whatever yoru preference is.

Camilo - Oh indeed. I ordered just the axle through Ali, I've sourced a selection of nuts that I was experimenting with yesterday. I've also toyed with trying an SCS 'boost' axle with some spacers.

I'm the type of person who likes to have spares, I'm terribly forgetful sometimes and I've lost more than my fair share of small parts, panicked, only to have them turn up a few days/weeks later. Not having a critical part that can be readily replaced for a big event or other activity would keep me up.

Just to close the loop on this, I was able to source a solution through Robert Axle, after I had provided them a picture of what I was working with on a fairly unique thru-axle size.

This thru-axle is 134mm with the necessary thread length I needed.
