p123 crit from yesterday. crit was dash for cash ($20 prime every lap) so it was a little crazy. camera angle is a bit off since i threw on the gopro just before the race so I didn't have time to adjust it. averaged ~29mph

Here is Cory Williams vid from the dash for cash(CBR). He also included the flying drone into his video. Pretty awesome!

For all values of R/C helicopter, R/C helicopter ≠ Drone

There are actual autonomous drones out there owned by members of the public, but it will be a while before they are commonplace and feature hardware and software capable of a nice race video.

the video quadcopter was pretty badass with gopros mounted on it. I was in the same race so i saw it several times hovering around. also justin williams had the sickest skinsuit on. all white with black/gold detailing and national champ stripes on the arms

Here's the Cat 3 all laps at the 2014 Roger Millikan Criterium. It's the 2nd time I've used the camera rig, still got some kinks to work out. It's 3 gopros and a canon xa10. Throw in the 2 DSLRs I'm lugging around and I'm pretty much set for a fun day of shooting. That's Daniel Zitter finishing 2nd.

Here's a better view of the crash proving that if you have enough cameras you have a good chance of capturing the unexpected. The guy shredded his front spokes in the skewer of the guy in front.

Here's a pic of me and the rig. Of course Fizik' bar tape for the 3 handles. Thanks to TRUCycling for sharing the shot.

Yeah, it takes about that many cameras to get you in frame.

"The camera adds 10 lbs."
"How many cameras were on you?"

Either 5x double-AA's, 1x Sony NP-F950 battery per light or one with an adapter that will power 4x lights. It will hold 4x HDV-Z96 LED lights but I've decided to move those off the rig onto their own holder and cut the rig in half vertically. That and 5 other mods for this weekend up at Ontario. Would be cool to get some shots of the quadcopter at work.

Short clip of my last race. Was mid pack going into the last lap. When the field fanned out on that first corner I was looking around for an opening, when suddenly wheels be touchin and dudes be riding sideways.

I shut it down about 5 seconds after the vid ends and just reeled it in at around threshold.

Enjoy!

Wow that one guy did well to not go down when dude bounced off him!

Btw seems like you need to be way further up to have any chance of a placing in a big field like that, that late in the race.. moving up late is tough!! If you move up early, then you're already there when it's time to be there.

That was sketchy as hell.

Rock Sports Racing (the rider @ :15-:30) is really well represented in the 4's and 5's now, since one of the millionaire sponsors decided to race. They had a full team in our race but unfortunately the sprinter and half the leadout got their laps wrong and made the final sprint on the bell lap.

Rock may be doing a good job of developing their guys, but some of their stronger riders have moved on and I haven't really seen them as much of a factor in any races this season. That said, they do a good job of supporting local cyclists and leading rides, so I can't criticize.

Cool video indeed.

Now, in terms of etiquette, is the big swing out there at the end to get a line to the finish which resulted in moving another rider (who appeared to be contending) off their line "just racing" or is that a no no? Not suggesting I'd attempt anything like that at my level, but just trying to get sense of the written/unwritten rules. It's pretty clear the other rider wasn't too pleased.

I've never seen one of their kits in the wild(streets).

I see so much LaGrange when I ride in the westside but these guys are non-existent in racing!

Most of the RSR guys are from this area (the Inland Empire).

I recorded my last race and one of the things you don't really expect is that aside from being a form of 'ewang' its a really good way to analyze your race (especially after syncing it with gps / power data).

I watched my whole race and it showed me as being super lazy and letting people come around me too often
