It actually ride quite well in all/any conditions (road/gravel/lite singletracks, etc.) I didn't have any experience with titanium bikes before taking delivery of the T-Lab (rode lots of aluminium and carbon bikes), so didn't really know what to expect except for what I heard or read. It's very stiff when it needs to be and very compliant when it needs too. It really feels like T-Lab's tube shaping is working quite well and not just marketing gimmik. I would say it's the closest to a foverver bike I'll ever have... but I don't believe in forever bikes... I know myself too well...

I built up your bike's spiritual cousin, albeit much less refined frame. I even routed the cables the same! I repainted this 2003 Redline Conquest Pro and built it up with a "Shimergo" Campagnolo Athena 11/Ultegra 6500 drivetrain and all silver components. Looking at your Vetta, I'm leaning toward painting the stem to match...

Thats a good looking bike! Love the color (very close to the blue of my Vetta road bike). Do paint that stem! The brakes are Campagnolo cantilevers which were part of the "CX" range they marketed some years ago but were made for them by TRP (bought them in 2015, think that was the last year before they were discontinued). Good stopping power and adjustability.

This is a rebuilt 80's touring bike, 1986 Univega Gran Turismo, that I've set up for mild gravel with the help of my local bike shop, Bullseye Bikes of Durham, NC. I bought the bike new in 1987 for $279. The rebuild
cost double that. It's set up for everyday riding: mostly paved bke path and mild gravel roads (so mild that a fair number of road bikes ride it without issue), hence Maxxis 33mm tires and 50x34 11-28 gearing. I spent most
of the money on the wheels, a decision that turned out well. It's great on pavement and on what most would call fire roads. I"ve done a little single track with it. It can manage, but it's pretty hopeless in mud and I personally
prefer flat bars on really challenging terrain. Bottom line, I find I tend to ride 5-10 miles more on this bike before coming home than I do on my other bikes. The second shot is the Al Buehler Trail near the golf course at Duke. It's more or less typical of "gravel" around here.

I had the V1 Swiss Cross, with cantilevers, and just built up the new one in that same colorway last fall. I haven't gotten as many miles on it as I'd like yet, but it's a keeper. The old Swiss Cross was a great bike and I loved it, but its Achilles heel was that it had too much flex at high speed or under hard braking. Fantastic for racing cyclocross but a bit dicey on big gravel road descents, or any steep descent to be honest. The new one has been stiffened up quite a bit, probably the thru-axles are a big part of that. The handling feels a lot more secure at speed, now, and I was surprised to find I was able to find a lot more traction on the trails as well. It'll be interesting to see what it's like on a cyclocross track, the old one already had slightly longer chainstays than usual for a cyclocross bike, and they went and lengthened them even more.

The Disc V2 shows a chainstay length of 437 vs a more standard 425 for my Disc V1; I guess that's one way to increase tire clearance.

Ever since I got my V1, I haven't ridden my other bikes. My friend at first wanted the canti version; it arrived damaged and once the steam blew off, he opted for this one. I can't say I blame him.

12sp Chorus is new to me so its been fun building it up. We ride mostly old bikes, so this modern rig will be fun.

Yes, I got confused about the V1 chainstay length - it was pretty typical for a cyclocross bike. Going to 437 is odd, but I think that along with opening up the tire clearance is a concession to the reality that very few people are buying these for cyclocross racing despite the pitch as a pure race machine. I’m one of the weirdos, and I liked racing the V1 a lot. My only concern about the V2 chain stays is it might make it marginally harder to hop the barriers. I don’t think your friend will regret going disc.

I like the Advent setup and keeping the tires period correct with the frame!
I put a 1x9 mtb Advent drivetrain on an old Trek 930 for my wife and was really happy with the setup. Good quality and cost for how she will use the bike.

Those tires though- skinwall Smoke and Dart?! Too cool.

I got my first ride on this today. This one is #62/100 according to the down tube.

I can't comment on the handling since I was frozen solid during that decent. It's a great climber though.

New/old cross bike purchased used last month from the Pro's Closet as nothing is in stock. If this happens to be your old bike: thanks. It has evidently been well maintained and came to me in essentially new condition. I have another more robust bike with bigger tires for rougher/longer gravel rides, this bike is meant for faster days on the smooth limestone paths in my area or road rides.

2016 Seven Mudhoney Pro size 54.5. Looks like traditional cross geometry to me but BB drop measures a bit larger than usual.
