Sons of Shimano - one of the most ruthless and brutal gangs out there. Stay away from those guys.

Unlike 99% of the videos to get posted here, that was totally worth watching.

My son sent it to me and I knew most of you would enjoy a good laugh at ourselves... even though none of use are like that

I remember my ex mother-in-law telling me that The Simpsons was a terrible show -- stupid, not funny, etc. I asked her "how many times have you watched it?"

Her reply was, "Oh, I've never seen it. I wouldn't watch something so stupid."

Family Guy is good, too.

Fortunately, I haven't had to deal with the ex-mother in law in about 18 years.

Ex in-laws being ex is the one unadulterated benefit of divorce.

Lots of visual gags in the Simpsons bit, wish the video were higher res.
  • Every chair has a bottle cage on the side
  • The bar seats are saddles
  • Multiple cyclists have GoPros attached to their helmets
  • A bit more obvious, but the bars going through helmets hung on the walls to look like devil skulls were a nice touch
  • Also hanging on the wall are two floor pumps crossed in an X
  • The pole that they crash into at the end has a Share the Road sign
  • I didn't see any disc brake bikes
Obviously, bike computers being much sturdier than phones would ruin the Pee-Wee's Big Adventure homage / dominoes trope, but they got some good one-liners out of it.

Takes one to know one. And didn't your mommy tell you to keep quiet if you can't say anything nice? I am sure she yelled it down to you in the basement.

I kept thinking "decent call outs to cyclist slang, but why are they calling them 'oil burners' instead of 'cagers'?"

Cuz "oil burners" is funnier. It's a comedy bit, not a documentary.

That is the point, it's satire. it's funny, you're supposed to laugh at absurd stereotypes because it's silly.

So why has no one marketed a "Sons of Shimano" line of apparel? Too many license approvals?

We had a cat who's mother died before it was weaned. It was never right in the head.
