Will Di2 EW-WU111 wireless unit work inside

Anyway question is will the unit work inside a Ti seat tube? Was planning to update firmware and configure data screens and shifter hood buttons prior to inserting into seat tube but will the metal prevent communication of gear and battery information? I'm thinking probably yes. In which case in order to hide the wireless unit best place would be inside handlebars.

So if it does interfere you wouldn't purchase it? I'd just try and see, regardless of others experience. Though I'd think metal of any sort will be a bigger issue than if this was a carbon bike.
I'm planning on getting one too and was just going to do my own experimentation with placement.
edit.... seems like there is or was a check box or function in the advanced edit to delete a post. It was very obscure and not very noticeable. Not sure if starter post for threads were/are different.

Mine has worked in the past a few times but really isn't reliable. I wouldn't do it honestly and I wish I hadn't spent that money. I may end up moving it to the rear derailleur or put it near the bars when I re-wrap and add the bar end Junction A unit. I do have an older phone so that could be it as well but I have tried it with other folks phones and it doesn't like to work as often.

Just splice it in up front, that's what I did on my Ti bike. You may have to unwrap the bars to clean up the wiring after.

Mine is in the downtube of a steel frame and seems to work fine...Though I just moved it there and haven't actually ridden outdoors with it, because of the weather.
