I guessed correctly then. I selected band on, choices were 31.8 or 34.9. I chose 31.8, however, I have a spare Ritchey breakaway clamp that is 31.8 mm and it’s pretty big, no where near snug around the seat post. Could it be smaller?

People walk and ride horses out there. These two decided to climb up the dam, not an easy walk.
There are miles of trails, dirt roads, and rocky creek beds to cruise around on.
There are a couple small "lakes" and this is the larger one.

True confession: I used a channel-lock to install my R8000 BB because ******g Shimano keeps changing the size/spline pattern on their BB's which makes my old tools obsolete.

I had a cartridge type BB on a touring bike. We were in Kansas or someplace and it was clunking pretty bad. I had a stubbly Snap On screwdriver and I borrowed a claw hammer from the motel we went to and took it apart. The outside of the thing was worn down so I wrapped it in electrical tape and hammered it back together and it worked fine until I sold the bike.
3 of the 4 of us had some kind of BB issue on the trip.
It looked kinda like this, but not a Phil Wood.

Well that was a bloody nightmare. So I was ordering the group set piece meal. I’ve had all the parts in my basket for about a week now and everything was in stock. Even this afternoon while asking my annoying questions everything was in stock. About an hour ago, while I was checking the front derailer situation, all the front derailers went out of stock. Instantly. I said ruh roh, and started checking other items. Everything was starting to sell out.
I noticed the complete groupset was on sale for 570.00, it was 675.00 yesterday so I immediately went to buy that.
You have to select each piece of the groupset, and it tells you if it’s in stock. The first time through I go to check out and now something is out stock. I re do it, and go to check out again and it happens again. Three times this happened.
Ended up with 175 mm cranks 50/34. I wanted 52/36 but it was sold out
Braze on front derailer. I’m gunna see if my LBS will let me trade it in for a band on
and a 11/32 cassette. Wanted 11/28 oh well.
With this small victory, my wife was quick to remind me that the super team wheels will have to wait a while, so unless someone lets me use a back wheel I won’t be able to put this group set on anytime soon.

I just had my LBS do that. But then, they also had to pull the square spindle BB that was there.

Why don't you like it, though? I don't think that I've ever used my 34t in Williamsburg - the 12-25 range is perfect.

Well, I'll be. Must be relatively new. Might have to get one of them - I do sometimes miss the 11t, what with these guads of thunder and whatnot.

small chain ring I get to 3 from the right fast and then the chain rub on the FDR is obnoxious so I go to large chain ring, then I’m chilling in 9,8,7,6 the whole time, unless there is a hill.
On paper is doesn’t sound bad but in practice I don’t care for it. 11/28 just made more sense. Maybe I am not used to yet.
