Casper is back with us, most likely for good this time. His owner fell ill and could no longer take care of him because she had to travel abroad for treatment, so she gave him back to us, along with three other cats she owned, all of whom we had given away to new forever homes. Unfortunately, a few months ago, Casper slipped off her balcony and fell a few stories down, hitting another balcony downstairs. He was found with multiple broken bones, but alive and breathing. She nursed him through to a full recovery and perfect health.
The little one is Otto. I found Otto at a gas station I had pulled into to check my phone one very early morning about three weeks ago. He was terrified and hungry and covered in what looked and felt like molten tar. It took my wife a few days to clean up what turned out to be a very sweet, very needy little kitten.
Lucky the ragdoll was abandoned at the nearby vet because his owners "got themselves a younger kitten," so we picked him up and brought him home.

WOW!
three months without a sjanzeir kitty post; was beginning to worry about you
so checked your record and you have been visiting regularly the forum
you had mentioned a move might be coming up so thought perhaps that may have had something to do with it
great to see you are still looking after our dear little ones!

So, after 126 pages and well over 3,000 posts, what's this thread still doing in Classic & Vintage? Shouldn't the administrators have moved it to... I don't know, Foo? Or, better yet, Politics & Religion!

there is a specific accepted term for the mandible clattering shown in the video
feline behaviourists refer to it as chattering
the two main theories of the experts are that it is due to:
a) frustration at not being able to get at prey seen through window
b) preparation for attack

We got a new kitten but she isn’t much to look at. She’s a bit… we’ll she’s really bity and very shy in fact we haven’t seen her in weeks! She seems to eat while I’m at work or something.

Meet Tiagra! Tiagra is one of four kittens that we've just taken in after their human mom could no longer take care of them due to poor health. Of the bunch, Tiagra is mine! I named her Tiagra for obvious reasons!

I have never seen a cat and dog get along as well as my current pair. They chase, snuggle, and wrastle with each other.
The cat is Iko and the dog is Ursa.

often when a kitty and a doggie are buddies the kitty will employ the doggie's coat as a scratching post.
does Iko do this with Ursa?
have seen dogs who are subjected to this treatment to be amazingly tolerant...

Such a cutie!
What be your present census?
At one point I think it were XXIV.
Then you made a number of placements.
Then there were some new arrivals/rescues....
All best to the tribe.

... And here's Sugar! Sugar is 17 months old! Sugar is just what her name is: sweet, addictive, and well behaved, although she's starting to pick up a few endearingly bad habits from Tootie (lurking and then blasting her way through cracked-open doors being the biggest one!)
