Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I hear ya. I haven't quite reached the point where it's a chore, but I'm not going to be afraid to call it good when I do, either.

I wouldn’t use it for much, I don’t use eftp for training because ERG is merciless. Typically I use what an indoor ramp gives me, which is usually 10-15%ess than intervals.

I’ll validate it with a hill effort in the near future. But think it’s possibly an outlier effort.

Just take it out of ERG and do incline mode, or whatever it's called. I haven't touched ERG in ages (I've kind of turned the Alpe in to my interval training, anyway).

Hell, even on my 30'/mile rides, the weight makes a difference. For that matter, it makes a difference even on the 15'/mile rides in bam's neck of the woods! Now maybe if I lived in FL... but who'd want to do that?

GCN just did a thing on rider weight at constant W/kg. On a climb, equal W/kg had Ollie(65kg) and Alex (80kg) riding side by side. On the flat, equal W/kg had Alex leaving Ollie for dead.

I believe you’re correct.

I’d love to get back into some programming (that’s what we called it back in my day) but I’ve been away too long. Some days I wake up and don’t even remember what day it is.

I haven't seen that one but, on a related note, I surprised when Alex said he was 80kg on a different, recent video. He must be tall or dense, because he looks pretty lanky and I would have guessed he weighed less.

I think he's tallish. Perhaps seeing him anywhere near Conor makes him look small.

This is my experience. I have significant problems hanging with the big men on the flats.
