Recommendations for new cables/housing for Suntour GPX drivetrain and brakes?

Hi folks,

I usually just do fixies and realize I'm in over my head for knowing how to pick what cables to use for this Giant Allegre with Suntour GPX that I have here -- it looks like standard 1.5mm for the brakes, and then I'm seeing Shimano/SRAM-compatible for most of these derailleur cable kits, will that work for me?

Thanks,

First know that some SunTour indexed shifters use a cable head that is 90* rotated compared to the usual shift cable end. Their Express levers (that were the response to the Shimano STI ones) need these spec cables as example. IIRC the 1.2mm diameter inner cable dimension was SunTour's indexed size too. So if the lever fits the common Shimano/SRAM cable heads then most all their, and the copies, cables are fine. Andy
