Broken part inside SRAM CX-1 shifter

Broken part inside SRAM CX-1 shifter
My SRAM Force CX-1 DoubleTap w/ hydraulic reservior, 11-speed has a broken cable holder/tensioner thing on the inside of the shifter. I can probably figure out how to take it apart to get the broken piece out but does anyone know where I can buy the replacement part? Also, for anyone who has experienced this, will I be able to replace this part/fix this shifter without having to disconnect the hydraulic line?

It just occurred to me that this part may not actually be broken even though to my untrained eye it looks broken, but I was having trouble shifting in to bigger gears this morning so I opened up the housing and noticed the cable wasnt in the correct place

Generally product service flows back upstream , beginning from the retail shop end,
because of automated assembly machines , some consideration ..
So just to replace is fast , shipping out for specialist repair is slow..
I'll let the others who own this stuff continue this . Our LBS here is mostly mid priced..
1 Trek 920 on the sales floor, last years model, has Sram hydro disc brifters ..
a 29er loaded touring bike with racks..
because of automated assembly machines , some consideration ..
So just to replace is fast , shipping out for specialist repair is slow..

Ive been looking around on the SRAM website and a few other places but cant find a replacement part anywhere. Im thinking about popping the broken one out and using some kind of liquid clement type material to fill the gap. Any ideas?

I seriously doubt that you will get something like that to stick, much less be stronger than the base material, which has already (at least partly) failed.

heh ya, not going to try that. I went over to the LBS and talked to them about it. They can rebuild the shifter for me but for now I just put some gorilla glue in that pocket that holds the cable end in place. I tested the shifting and cable tension while monitoring the damaged area and it seems fine for now. This is on my commuter bike that I only take around town and dont go more than 10 miles round trip usually so Im fine with it for now

SRAM cable spool replacement
There is now a solution! ratio technology from the UK do a replacement cable spool for £8. Google it. I'd post a link but the forum doesn't allow newbies to....

Hmmmm...brand new member that seems to be hunting down broken SRAM shifter threads. You wouldn't happen to work for Ratio Technology, would you?

So much positive thoughts on the net...
I'm actually an Aussie, living in Melbourne and a passionate SRAM hater.
And after being 2km into an 82km gravel race at the Dirty Pig & Whistle event in Creswick (regional Victoria) on the weekend, I finally had enough of this repeating issue... I then saw the ratio tech article via bike radar, I think it's since popped up on many more.
Thought I then try and help others... So they don't have to be screwed by SRAM as well.
Note as soon as a store has stock of Shimano GRX you won't see me on a SRAM thread again.
Btw, even if I was from said company or knew someone who was, why wouldn't it come with praise for a solution that costs 3% of SRAMs solution in Australia (by entire new shifter which you can't by separate from caliper).

Pretty happy about this as I couldn't a solution when the cheap plastic spool died on my SRAM shifter. I knew I wasn't the only one with that issue. Why on earth do manufacturers not supply replacement parts for cheap parts on their components? We all know why. That's right, your shifter is in perfect working order except for one cheap piece that we knew might fail (fingers crossed), then we won't be able to replace that part, so your only alternative is to replace the whole shifter for +£200. Wasteful! While some on here are suspect to Ratio's posting on here, I applaud their sustainability and call out SRAM's wastefulness!

I'm also in Melbourne and trying to find a solution to this... Must be the type of riding we do!
Yesterday I identified the issue with the broken cable spool. What started happening to me was that the cable jumped out of the spool and my shifters went past the limit on the spool - the end result is the same that you can't shift up or down, and your rear derailleur is stuck in the hardest gear.
So now that I've identified it, I'm keen to get the Ratio kit. I ONLY need the small, red plastic part (which is black from Ratio- about $10) . But I wanted to know - has anyone taken the left side shifter cable spool and donated that to the right side? From the Ratio site it doesn't look like you need to specify left or right side, but I'm assuming it might just be always right-side.
I'm not keen on a hack job for this like some people have done - just feels like more effort than it's worth - so would like to do the 1-for-1 replacement.
