What’s Your Spinning RPM on Flats?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

For a flat-road steady ride at a comfortable Z2 pace/effort I'm at around 85rpm. I find myself instinctively downshifting if I drop below 80.

On longer sustained climbs (something I only encounter on Zwift) my power/effort goes up and cadence falls into the upper 70's. When I'm out of the saddle climbing it's in the low/mid 60's.

I can and do ride higher RPM from time to time. If the group is getting after it, or I've got a tailwind or a long downhill I'm easily in the 90-100rpm range.

I don't pay that much attention to cadence, and don't display it on my head unit while riding. Zwift puts it on-screen so I probably pay more attention to it then, but otherwise this is just info I've gleaned from Strava data after-the-fact.
