I have a large friend who has cracked several headtubes (on similar frames to this) like that! I’ve learned that “my headset feels weird” really means “time for a new frame”.

Pour me another, Fred. Added mid tube incorporates shifter braze-on's, though could be the original shifter band clamp crushed and welded.

I see the very long floppy cable going to the RD, but I don't think it's hooked up to a shifter.

Somebody took a mig welding art class and then applied it to a bike. As long as the head tube isn't actually cracked, it is a pretty cool looking bike. I agree, some supports under the racks are necessary to make it practical, and with the right curves they could even add to the aesthetic.
